Activity patterns of the European green toad (Bufotes viridis) in rural and urban areas.
Supervisors: Günther Gollmann

 About me

I’m a Master’s student under the supervision of Dr. Günter Gollmann.
The topic of my thesis is “Behavioral patterns of the European green toad (Bufotes viridis) in rural and urban areas”.
European green toads are a pioneer species that can persist in strongly human dominated habitats. To analyze potential activity adaptations, green toads from urban and rural environments will be radio-tracked and
equipped with accelerometers. The data will allow us to compare behavioral patterns of the toad populations. The aim is to investigate how the urban habitat affects the behavior of the animals.
The project is conducted in cooperation with the working group of Lukas Landler (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna). For the data collection I will work together with Nadine Lehofer.
